Job Description:

The position is responsible for project implementation of Oxfam advocacy project, the position holder should be able to build strategic partnerships with a wide array of stakeholders working in the field of climate change. Have very good understanding of climate change issues at the national/sub national level.

Job Description

  • Serves as the program lead and primary point of contact between
  • Provincial and national stakeholders and SPO offices in the regions.
  • Leading the overall responsible body for ensuring the effective and quality implementation of project and ensuring compliance with project agreement.
  • Stakeholder Identification and mapping, Organizes, attends and participates in relevant stakeholder meetings.
  • Develop and utilize advocacy channels for the organization to achieve relevant advocacy objectives.
  • Lead advocacy agenda in relation to the climate change from district to provincial level with a focus on existing policies and gaps
  • Ensures that all advocacy messages and documents are evidence-based and of high quality.
  • Implementing advocacy agenda in the form of identification and representation at suitable forums, initiatives and campaigns by engaging different stakeholders, consultants and particularly government at district, provincial and national levels as and when needed.
  • Build strategic linkages of climate advocacy initiatives with DRR. Food Security, WASH and Livelihoods policies and issues on the ground and promoting a culture of dialogues and accountability between community and government line departments.
  • Assist Regional Manager in designing and organizing advocacy initiatives and campaigns.
  • Building alliances and coalitions at provincial level with like-minded organizations to effectively take forward the cause of targeted population.
  • Leading, managing and coordinating the forums and events under advocacy initiatives in consultation with Regional Manager.
  • Trouble shoots issues and challenges related to Program implementation.
  • Regular visits and closely monitoring of the quality and implementations of the Program with possible solutions to problems as they arise.
  • Develops, maintains and monitors plans of action, monitoring plans, budgets and expenditures.
  • Tracks project performance to timely ensure the successful completion of short and long-term project/program goals.
  • Meets the budgetary objectives set and proactively address project constraints based on financial analysis.
  • Develops and maintains good liaison with governmental authorities, donors, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), private sector and civil society organizations, with the aim of coordinating and promoting project / program activities.
  • Develop and monitors the project management calendar for fulfilling each project goals, objectives and detailed deliverables.
  • Ensures the effective coordination, planning, implementation and reporting of project activities in accordance with work plans.
  • Ensures regular reporting, information sharing, and other requirements are communicated and received by Regional Managers.
  • Ensures collection, filing and submission of required project documentation, and presentation of best practices and lessons learned.

  • Adhere to SPO policies and promote participatory culture and demonstrate SPO’s values
  • Participate in professional development training as identified and approved by SPO
  • Carry out any other activities as assigned by the supervisor
