We are seeking an experienced API developer to help us convert the database access of our legacy .NET software system for the Windows environment to RESTful APIs. Our in-house front-end developer will be building a web-based application using JavaScript, and your role will be to create the necessary APIs to enable seamless communication between the front-end and our existing database.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze the existing .NET software system and understand its database structure and calls.
• Design and develop RESTful APIs that facilitate reading and writing from/to the database for the new JavaScript front-end.
• Collaborate closely with our in-house front-end developer to ensure seamless integration of the APIs with the new web-based application.
• Implement proper authentication and security measures to protect the APIs.
• Document the API endpoints and provide clear instructions for usage.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any API-related issues during the development and integration process.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in API development, with a focus on RESTful APIs.
• Strong knowledge of .NET framework and C# programming language.
• Familiarity with JavaScript and web-based applications.
• Experience working with relational databases, such as Microsoft SQL Server or similar.
• Strong understanding of API authentication and security best practices.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Bonus: Experience with converting legacy software systems to modern web-based applications.
