Job Description:

Position Related:

Telenor GSS is establishing a new service based on the ChangePoint Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) application suite. During Q3-Q4/2014, 5 Business Units (BUs) are to have started using this service, with more than 4,000 individual users. Additionally, three more BUs are expected to come on board during Q4/2014 – Q1/2015.

Goals

The establishment of a PPM Centre of Excellence (CoE) will focus on providing a ‘cradle to grave’ approach of on-boarding new customers by offering a full set of services allowing the BU to adopt the solution with minimal impact. Post deployment this function should adopt a ‘continuous improvement’ process to ensure that the solution is continually reviewed and exploited to provide the BUs with functionality enhancements that support business growth and process development

Your Typical day at work

  • Operating and managing a strict change control process in line with GSS standards and processes with minimal impact to PPM services, in close collaboration with the IT Operations / Service Integration function.
  • Providing functional support for interface development.
  • Escalating product bugs/ functionality issues to application software vendor (Changepoint).
  • Gathering, analysing and documenting business requirements and processes.
  • Matching business requirements and processes with product functionality.
  • Deploying and, where appropriate, building solutions to meet local business needs.
  • Evaluating and, where appropriate, recommending the adoption of new product functionality where there are benefits to be gained in supporting the BUs business objectives.
  • Delivering and maintaining end-user training materials.
  • Supporting the development of key management information by providing guidance and support
  • Providing consultancy and analysis of changes requested by the BUs
  • Staying abreast of best practises and product developments by forging and maintaining relationships with both product suppliers and user support groups.
  • Creating and driving user forums/ communities to promote and institutionalise PPM within the business – ensuring user satisfaction and awareness, and seeking consensus on new PPM initiatives, where appropriate

Eligibility Criteria

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in IT/Engineering/Computer Sciences or similar
  • Relevant certification in the tool and technology will be a plus
Work experience:
  • Solid experience of managing project portfolio
  • Extensive experience within IT Project portfolio management tools
  • Should be experienced in Shared Services deliveries
  • Experience with working in multinational teams and multinational companies
  • Stakeholder / vendor relationship at operational/tactical levels
Interpersonal/Professional Skills:
  • Ability to work independently and as a team lead
  • Task oriented with focus on deliverables
  • Innovative with an analytical mindset
  • Capable of meeting deadlines while ensuring quality
  • Be able to work under pressure in a challenging environment
  • Fluency in English language
  • Ability to travel frequently and over extended periods
