Job Description:

The Provincial Field Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and guiding a team of Polio Workers assigned to specific locations. The role is essential for ensuring the effectiveness of data collection, maintaining immunization quality standards, and addressing operational challenges on the ground. The supervisor will act as a bridge between field workers and project management to ensure timely reporting, compliance with campaign protocols, and proper coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervision & Field Monitoring:

  • Provide on-ground supervision to polio workers at assigned health facilities and community centers.
  • Monitor daily operations, ensuring adherence to campaign schedules and SOPs.
  • Conduct field visits and random spot checks to verify the quality and completeness of vaccination and data collection efforts.

Team Support & Capacity Building:

  • Guide polio workers in addressing on-site challenges, including handling refusals and communicating with caregivers.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate refresher sessions for field staff.
  • Promote team motivation and resolve minor disputes or grievances among staff.

Quality Assurance:

  • Review and validate field reports submitted by polio workers.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely submission of daily and weekly reporting data.
  • Provide constructive feedback to improve data quality and immunization coverage.

Coordination & Communication:

  • Maintain active communication with project management, health facility staff, and local authorities.
  • Coordinate with logistic teams for the timely provision of vaccines and supplies.
  • Participate in daily briefings, debriefings, and progress review meetings.

Reporting & Documentation:

  • Document field challenges, lessons learned, and successful strategies.
  • Prepare concise weekly summaries and submit them to the district focal person or project manager.
  • Report any critical incident, adverse event following immunization or campaign disruption.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Human Resource Management, Social Sciences, International Relations, Public Health, or a related field.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in public health, with at least 1 year specifically in EPI/PEI or maternal and child health initiatives.
  • Candidates with relevant experience in the Polio Eradication Initiative (PEI) are highly encouraged.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to manage and resolve conflict
  • Good command of report writing and documentation
  • Familiarity with local languages and community dynamics
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel) and data validation tools
  • Ability to work under pressure and travel within assigned areas
